Envision Plastics and LyondellBasell jointly announced today that they have entered into a long-term supply agreement to bring high quality, innovative sustainability solutions to customers. This agreement leverages each company’s respective capabilities to bring differentiated circular solutions to the market that will help the packaging industry meet its sustainability goals.

“Sustainable packaging solutions are in increasing demand, and it is a trend that is here to stay. We are thrilled to be supplying our EcoPrime® product to LyondellBasell so they can provide unique post-consumer resin solutions to their customers through their CirculenRecover portfolio,” said Roberto Fontanillas, Vice President, and General Manager at Envision Plastics. “Envision has always been a leader in producing HDPE recycled solutions and we look forward to continuing our growth and our relationships with companies like LyondellBasell.”

For more than 20 years, Envision Plastics has been creating innovative sustainable solutions, such as its EcoPrime® product. EcoPrime® is HDPE PCR made from curbside-collected, post-consumer food and beverage containers and is especially unique because the FDA has issued a letter of non-objection, allowing it to be used for direct food contact. The LyondellBasell CirculenRecover polymers include a range of formulated single pellet solutions, combining virgin resin with PCR, that can be used in a wide variety of packaging applications. CirculenRecover products are designed to overcome potential processability and performance challenges associated with utilizing PCR.

“Through this agreement with Envision, we are able to offer industry leading solutions that advance the circular economy,” said Wisdom Dzotsi, director of Circular Polymer Solutions at LyondellBasell. “Agreements with companies like Envision are key to achieving our ambitious goal of producing and marketing two million metric tons of recycled and renewable-based polymers by 2030.”
